I Will Always Love Crack: Whitney Houston Dies

Don't fear the Reaper...

Saving All My Crack For You…

Okay, she could sing. Could, as in past tense. Twenty years ago. But what we know now is an empty shell of a person, one scooped clean by alcohol and dope.

I never listened to her music. I wasn’t then and am not today into pop music. But I recognize the talent for carrying a worthy tune.

Doesn’t matter. The future will remember Whitless, er, Whitney Houston in much the same way as JFK, except of course, that singers are a dime a dozen and true leaders are extinct. The Whit will be remembered as in, what could have been, but wasn’t. Whitless- I mean Whitney could have been a great singer. But she chose to be a drug addict.

Billie Holiday, she ain’t.

Anyone really surprised about the seeming lack of tributes to the gal? You shouldn’t be. This wasn’t someone who spent her fame and millions by helping needy children, or educating African villages about AIDS. This was a drunk with mismatched, wet clothing, always high, doing handstands by the pool, getting into fights with party guests. It’s tiring having people like this around. It’s useless. It takes too much energy to put up with them.
Billie Holiday, she ain’t.

Her interviews showed who she was, if you care to listen. She didn’t talk about benefit concerts or her new album. She talked about getting high. Because that’s what’s important to an addict. By some reports, this particular addict blew through 100 million dollars. As she told Diane Sawyer, “I make too much money to be smokin’ crack. Crack is wack.”

Yeah, you’ll be missed, Whitney. Like the Ghost of Christmas Past, once a year we’ll say, remember Whitney Houston?

Then again, maybe we won’t.

Ah, dope. The Greatest Love of All…

  5. Addiction is a disease, not a choice.....unlike ignorant and uneducated people who blog to gain some sort of sad recognition. Whitney was a national treasure who had more talent in her little pinky finger than most people can accumulate in a lifetime. She most certainly deserves to be celebrated not ridiculed; by the same kind of demons she tried so very hard to fight off.

    2. No one twists anybody else's arm up behind their back and forces them to start snorting or shooting drugs. They do it voluntarily not in response to a disease. They cause the so called disease themselves.

    2. What makes me special is, I'm alive, and I'm not pouring piles of cash into the illegal drug trade.

  9. Good god! why do you- no HOW can you possibly hate that woman so much?! She had talent, problably the greatest talent in the entire world, and yes, she was a drug addict in the end, but that should not define her as a person! the world has lost some of the greatest singers in very short amount of time! first MJ and now her. Try to open your mind, listen to I will always love you, and quit being that angry.

    1. Singing songs is not the greatest talent in the entire world. It's entertainment. Like a clown. Want to impress me, cure cancer, stop war, end animal abuse. Singers sing songs. Not a worthy labor for my worship.

  10. and just to let you know..In 1989, Houston formed The Whitney Houston Foundation For Children, a non-profit organization that has raised funds for the needs of children around the world. The organization cares for homelessness, children with cancer or AIDS, and other issues of self-empowerment

  12. Look who's talking, whippersnapper! Young woman!
What's your history? Bad memories came back?

You'd better eat healthier than the stuff you're eating on your picture, otherwise you'll end in a coffin yourself before you know it.
And who will be there to say goodbye and cry at your funeral?

    Grow up!

  14. I think that this was a pretty accurate account of the basic situation. Alot of talented people aren't worth a shit

    1. Took a while. Most people obviously become too emotional, acting like they personally knew someone who could spend 100 mil on dope and end up wasting any talent given her. A couple of local radio jocks got suspended for saying pretty much what was written here. Truth hurts. The kid could sing but she was one wasted, washed out addict.

    2. Your comment is thought provoking and provocative. That, or thick-witted and imbecilic. Probably the latter.

  17. Really? Seems like this world has an abundance of exactly that.

  18. I noticed that you mentioned how she never gave to charity and how she spent all of her money on dope. You also mentioned that you didn't listen to her music or know much about her, yet you managed to dedicate and entire blog post to her. She actually gave a lot of money to charitable causes, performed at lots of events to raise money, opened a school, etc. It's not hard to find, you can google it if you're interested. I just saw a little girl on TV the other day who spoke about how Whitney covered her medical bills for the year that she received treatment for colon cancer. "100 mil on dope." Really? You were there? Like cancer, addition is a terrible disease. Pray that you never experience either. Be careful people, the world is rough and the insensitive people who live in it are even rougher.

    1. What you "want to do to me?" What? Kiss me? Buy me a Starbucks? Recently a Pennsylvania judge ruled that Muslims are allowed to attack people for insulting Mohammad (http://news.yahoo.com/penn-judge-muslims-allowed-attack-people-insulting-mohammad-210000330.html).

I guess we know who our prophets are here in America. The faces in the supermarket checkout line.

  21. i agree that entertainers get a little to much credit for their talent sometimes. the real heroes and talent in the world are political and economic powers. this is the real playing field for making a difference the world. for example encouraging children to pursue a science or maybe become a judge to really make a difference in lives.

  22. Whitney Houston was not good role model but she should not have been considered one anyway. she was just a very very good entertainer. the problem occurs when some think that these entertainers are sacred. she was not a JFK, MLK, FDR, LBJ....etc she had no impact on national policy, wars, the economy....zero, except her own profit from selling records.

  23. Yes she had a magnificent gift and we were lucky to be blessed with her for a while, but she was weak and the drugs and alcohol and her man consumed her, but the world will never forget Miss Whitney Houston. I'm quite sure her name will be mentioned somewhere in this world on a daily basis year round...

  24. Tomoe???? Is that some sort of tropical foot fungus....? I think you need an antifungal cream that can cure the supercilious thoughts and behavior eminating from your sooo very rotten core...grasshopper! You still have much to learn before you can leave the temple. You want to impress me..? cure the ignorance and hate that comes not only from within you, but also from around you;I'm talking about not only your frame of reference, but also the environment you are a product of, you dipshit! Such hypocrisy, and duality fomenting from your lips: Let us dissect some of the ying/yang, duality in one of your statements. You say that singers are just entertainers...like clowns??? and therefore don't deserve the kind of notoriety for bringing people together as some Einstein that wins a Nobel Prize...correct? I'd like to know why you would pour so much effort into bringing down Whitney Houston, and why you would post it like this over the internet? Could it be that you are insidiously trying to ENTERTAIN the masses? Or are you just masturbating for the hell of it...trying to entertain YOURSELF. In either event, you are no more than a clown yourself; one with a big long nose, looking down your snout at people who are human and therefore susceptible to making mistakes in their life. Clinically speaking: You don't hate Whitney Houston.....You hate yourself! Whitney is just a symptom of what the real problem truly is. For you to take so much time to post something so lame like what you have done over the internet, the only reason you would do it is to seek attention from the world:"HEY!!! LOOK OVER HERE AT ME!!!" You actually WANT a REACTION...And accomplishing that need, that want,that...that "feat" ...is by definition the idolization of entertainment; the very labor that according to you is not worthy of your worship, but yet you are worshiping through the labor of making a statement to seek attention. I'll bet you are sooo happy to mix it up with someone that's debating you about your behavior. You are looking to get responses from people who are horrified by your insensitivity, and that is a sick way in which to get attention or get your needs met.You really have a very low self esteem bringing down icons to elevate yourself.

  27. ...said Bobby Brown to the Whit. However, take note: if you wish to canonize drunken drug addicts, if a slurring has been is your idea of a role model, if a public drunk is your hero, then your future will likewise be one of self depreciation and gargling bath water.

Tomoe, I wonder if you think of yourself as an ancient female warrior, or as some dark social catalyst that makes the world turn negatively around. I would much rather think of you as someones concubine... someone low on the totem pole of a caste system...where stratification is out of the question and the only way for you to get a civilized persons attention is to callously shock and injure them by attacking something they consider to be a national treasure. After putting her down so maliciously, I guess you've subconciously elevated yourself in your own mind and are reveling in all the noterioty that's been generated in the aftermath.

  30. "You notice the splinter in other people's eyes, but you do not notice the beam of wood in your own eye.(Bible verse)" Kindly do not make rash judgements on the actions of that particular person that led to her ultimate demise. There might be reasons that have forced her to choose that drug-addled lifestyle. Try to put yourself in her shoes and just maybe, you would understand the internal problems that she was facing. A person may have lot's of money and fame, but it does not mean that they are 100 percent happy. I'm no fan of her, but you have to give someone who is deceased some respect and understanding. Drug addicts are people too you know, with problems that they cannot seem to face or surmount so they falter and give in to the craving of the drug. It is just a pity that drug rehabilitation was beyond reach for that person.
